Ideas to Celebrate Every Kid Healthy Week’s Daily Themes:
Mindfulness Monday:
Go on an intentional/mindful walk
Plan for one or two things that you might pay attention to, or be on the lookout for.
Engage the senses as you explore.
What do you hear, see, smell, feel?
Share in reflective conversations:
Tell me the highs and lows of your day.
What’s something that made you smile?
A moment that made you feel proud?
Explore different ways to give our brains a break when feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
Create art.
Tasty Tuesday:
Pick a new food to try, try a new way to eat a familiar food, or try a new recipe.
Plan/prepare a meal together.
Set the stage: chat about what makes an eating experience great.
Wellness Wednesday:
Get active outside:
Hopscotch
Play catch/shoot hoops
Bike ride
For not so great weather:
Play an active video game.
Put some music on to do chores/clean.
Have a dance party.
Thoughtful Thursday:
Do something kind for others.
Learn where food/plants comes from:
Plant seeds, care for and watch your plant grow.
Be mindful of how we interact with our environment:
Talk about recycling, waste, and how we show care for the earth/our outdoor space.
Talk about bullying/peer pressure, and what we can do if those situations arise.
Family Friday:
Tune out, to tune in: have a technology time out.
Host a family game night/start a family puzzle.
Get everyone involved in planning something fun.
The biggest thing to remember is to do these things together, for when we practice wellness together, it supports us all.
