MY APPROACH:
When it comes to supporting someone in reaching their health and wellness goals, I really only have one thing in mind: you.
My mission is to clarify confusing nutrition information, arming people with the necessary tools, education and support needed, so that they are able to make their own informed decisions and choices when it comes to their health, while also offering realistic recommendations that are unique, individual, and suitable to any lifestyle.
I am committed to providing a person-centered approach throughout every facet of my practice, and work hard to partner with each of my clients, learning what their hopes are, and supporting them in anyway necessary to help them succeed.
AS A PERSON:
I am constantly in motion! I have a passion for life and living well. Growing up, some of my fondest memories include spending time with my family in the kitchen. It's here where I developed a love for food and cooking. Kickboxing, running, hiking, aerobic dance/Zumba, exploring different areas on foot, and trying whatever new exercise someone wants to show me, are just a few ways that I enjoy staying fit.
I am an avid learner, and continue to look for new ways that I can develop and grow in my profession, so that I can best help others develop and grow too.
My enthusiasm and ability to motivate others, and capability to have fun, no matter the situation are all things that make me unique.
MY BACKGROUND:
I am a graduate of The Ohio State University where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and completed my dietetic internship. I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2007, and am an affiliate of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and active member of the state and regional dietetic associations, where I have held the presidential title for the Genesee Dietetic Association.
Currently I work full time in the field of corporate wellness where I am responsible for designing and implementing a health and wellness program for over 800 employees serving the Rochester community, and offer individual and group counseling, as well as consulting services in my private practice part-time.
Prior to my current role, I served as a Registered Dietitian at the State University of New York at Oswego where I revamped the residential dining menu, as well as counseled, and provided nutrition education to students, faculty and staff.
I have completed CDR Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management Level 1 and 2.
Professional groups that I belong to include the SCAN (Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition), Weight Management, Behavioral Health Nutrition, Dietitians in Business and Communications, and Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice groups.
